10 22 bolt scraping next round

Actually I found his video last weekend and it was after following his advice I was able to Actually have some functionality. I'm gonna say 80 % fire rate. To me it's terrible considering the other semi autos I have.
So I bought some of those dummy rounds...six in a pack. It does the same thing in regard to bad feeds. Sometiime the bullet nose gets hit entering the chamber. But they don't seem scraped much from the bolt...altho they are hard aluminum...
I'm so curious I almost want you to send it to me so I can figure this out lol. I had a hard time with my butler creek ten round clear mags. I adjusted the mag release a little and stopped having nose up failure to feed.
Of what exactly. I threw away a bunch of beat up rounds.
Magdump has my C71 receiver in the mail ...finally...will swap it out and try the whole thing again. Just hoping there's some small change that will make the difference.
Otherwise I give up. Got a Derya and a CZ512 to play with...
Since you are getting a new receiver to try why not remove the barrel and see if it still deforms bullets. All it should do is push the bullet out of mag. If they are not deformed then it's a barrel that's maybe off. Just a thought, not sure if it would work.

Part A is allowed to be 97-104mm and Part B is allowed to be 98-102mmThey both fit into Part C, which has a tolerance of 195-205 allowance
IF you get a Part A and B that were manufactured both to its maximum (still within manufacturer specs for individual components)
It does exceed the allowable tolerance of PART C, only allowing 205mm (not 206) (that they fit into) and it will be too tight of a fit or rub together etc. Even a thick coat of anodizing, or cerakote can throw it off spec just a bit. In terms of AR15s, the tolerance stacking was made such that any part should have worked with any other part as long as they were all made to 'MIL Spec', which was a tolerance and dimensions guideline.
In your case, its the could be the tolerances in the magazine, bolt and receiver having not enough clearance, remember this could be something as small as a few thousands of an inch.
The easiest solution would be to try the magazine in a different rifle, try a different magazine in your rifle, and see what component the problem follows. IF the problem goes away with a new magazine, it was the magazine. IF both magazines have issues in your rifle, its your bolt or receiver, and you can change bolts with a different receiver to troubleshoot the same way.

Update: The new receiver solved all the issues. No more scraping lead. No more feed issues. All brands feed. And 3 different styles of magazines feed. It simply works!
So...does this mean the ST 22 is crap? Or did I get a bad unit? Should I ask for a refund?.
A very interesting Side note: In trying to establish the culprit...I purchased a kidd bolt. Turns out said bolt was causing fail to fire problems. And that's not the worse part. You may need to reread this....after firing a couple rounds I get a click...pull back the bolt and see an unfired round...remove magazine but round fails to extract. Move bolt back and forth a couple times to try and remove...then I let the bolt go and it goes bang...no finger on the trigger...guess who's shocked and thankful that the gun is pointed down and away from any harm. So after a few more shots another click. Remove mag and repeat the same thing but now aware...this was repeatable and happened every time it failed to fire.
Removed kidd bolt and replaced it with the sbi bolt...solved both fail to fire and fail to eject! Weird ####!

I've never had issues with KIDD parts, very possible SBI played with tolerancing, on purpose or accidentally to make their own parts more reliable to run. could be something as simple as a few extra thou on the front internals and a few extra thou on the firing pin to make up the difference, suddenly you get light primer strikes on most bolts!
You can measure that using a caliper if you have one. As for the parts they should move pretty fast on EE at the right price. lots of people building 22s with the new bans happening
