Hey guys
So I am gunna ask the most embarrassing question of all but I havent really bought alot of modern 22. so when I browsed thru that 10/22 picture thread I fell in love with some of the shorter barrel options from dlask, so basically if the barrel is under 18.5 inches its still restricted right? So how do you go about telling the RCMP about that and registering it?
I was also wondering what might be a good 22. scope, I dont wanna drop a 1000 on a scope for my 22. but I found with the last red dot I bought, which was cheap, it falls outta zero...alot.

If the barrel is manufactured under 18" but overall length of the gun is still over 26 its non restricted.

I have a 10.5" barrel on mine and it is non-restricted. IMHO $1000 is way too much for a 22 scope. You can get a really good one for under $500.

On my Short barrel 10/22 (12.5" Dlask heavy barrel) I have a Vortex Crossfire 2-7 rimfire scope. I think it was $139. It's a great little scope, very sturdy, clear and looks nice. Plus its got Vortex's lifetime warranty, which is nice.

As other posters have said, since the barrel comes like that from the Dlask factory, it's still non restricted. So go buy your barrel, install it, don't tell the police anything, and enjoy!

Wow thats great thanks guys! Im pumped I can buy a stubby barrel from dlask now! Anyone have experience with the hogue oversold stocks? I really like the neon green one!

I have a hogue with my dlask 10" with comp

I like the feel of the overmold just a heads up the hogue with a bull barrel its a bit on the heavy side. My rifle as you see it fully loaded is about 6.5lbs ish

My wife had the zombie green and it looks like crap after awhile of handling it after Handling lots of dirty .22 rounds.

I really like the hogue on mine, if you are going for strictly precision though, it can be a bit frusterating. It has the same flex and barrel contact problem as the rem 700 hogue stocks. I don't have a pic of this, but you can clearly see barrel contact in one of the previous pics of the red marble stock. The grip and feel is great in the gopher fields though.

Thats good to hear about the cleaning. Langbanger, what do you mean about the contact issue? Sorry I am not really familiar with precision shooting or gun builds haha

When resting on a bi-pod or bags the hogue stock flexes and makes contact with your barrel. This will have an effect on your group sizes. Its not terrible but if you are looking for smallest groups possible it might not be for you. Here are Ave groups with mine, out of a tactical solutions barrel and hogue stock ( and everything else but the receiver upgraded) nothing to shake a stick at for sure

All are at 50 yards if I changed out the hogue stock I'm sure I could shrink the groups, but it feels good and gophers don't know the difference.

If you look at my pic of the muzzle of my ruger youll see that the stock flexes to the point that it comes in contact with my comp from it laying on its side. Like said it dosnt make a world of difference but it is there. It dosnt bother me but if i were after tiny groups (flame suit on) I wouldnt choose a 10/22.

Langbanger, nice groups. I have a similar set-up I have yet to shoot, can only hope it works as well as yours. So far I've got the tacsol barrel, hogue stock, plus a power customs hammer. What upgrade did you do that you think has the biggest impact on accuracy?

Aside from the barrel I think the trigger is the next biggest accuracy factor. I use the Kidd trigger kits. I've got two now and absolutely love them. Brings trigger pull down to a crisp 1 3/4 lb pull. The Kidd bolt helped with extraction/ejection as I have not had a single issue in thousands of rounds now. Weather or not it improved accuracy though I can't tell.
