10/22 build

@titch how does that Kidd ultra light weight barrel feel weight wise compared to a standard bull barrel? I've been desiring to turn mine into a light weight

Hey guys I was thinking of asking Dlask about the Kidd charging handle, but thought it would be on their site if they had it. I really like the look of the round type of handle and all I saw on their site was the curved type ones.

That nitride bolt might be alright but I thought it should have some chrome on it somewhere. :)

Mike this is the only 10/22 barrel I have ever played with so I dont really know about the difference between the two. To me this does feel super light.

These are the handles I would like

Love these dlask builds, I just finished my second build, gun metal grey barrelled receiver. Question for anyone running the Xb5 compensator... anyone else have lots of powder build up? If so how are you folks getting rid of it? Are these blaster stocks as great as people are claiming.

I have the rubber charging handle from Kidd. I don't like the rubber on it. I'd choose one of the new versions. Top two.
I have the xb5 compensator and have used it very little so far. It seems to get kinda cruddy in the holes but I don't care really.
The Boyd's blaster stock feels comfortable but mine seems kinda chunky, id like to see a new slimmed down version, especially the for end.

As for the Blaster stock Ive only played with it by itself, meaning there was no receiver/barrel in it and it felt real nice and comfortable up in the shoulder to me.

What dont you like about the rubber handle? I think my first choice would be the one with the straight lines around it.

The rubber tube in my Kidd handle starting loosening up a bit and I think eventually may wear to the point it needs to come off anyhow. I would get the top left one with the grooves around it

As for stocks, the best quality and feeling one I have tried and own now is a victor Titan stock. Unbelievable how comfortable it is. It will put the blaster stock to shame! They ship to Canada from their company in L.A California

FINALLY got all my pieces and put it together. Bout daam time :)

A quick pic

Still going to bed the rifle before heading out to shoot it.

The barrel was a super pain in the azz to get on. I even put the receiver in the oven and the barrel in the freezer. Once I had it started there was no turning back. heh The bolt was kind of a pain in the azz as well. The receiver I think is a little to tight, but after working it back and forth abunch of times its getting better for sure. Also had to take the dremel to the stock to make it fit. Thought it was all going to take 15 minutes, nope. :p Its all behind me now. Im also surprised that its pretty light. Thought it would be a bit heavier.

Havent even shot it yet but Im pretty happy with it so far.

I did one up a few years ago and I bedded the action and the first 3 inches of the barrel and it was very accurate.

Hey guys, one more post and Im done, I swear :)

Only had this lil unit out the one time so far. Shoots good with only about a hundred rounds down it so far, but it has one little problem. Sometimes it fails to load the round in the chamber. What happens is, the bolt goes forward and takes the round out of the mag but it seems that the extractor is alittle to tight and wont let the round seat fully up in the bolt, so when it tries to go into the chamber is sometimes gets jammed up. Im pretty sure that this will wear down eventually, but how long? I thought about helping it along some by maybe light sanding it, maybe? So far I havent done nothing. Anyone ever run into this before?

Heres a lil pic to give you a idea, as my explanation might be abit off. :)

Also I bedding her in her final home sweet home. I think I dont even need to have a bolt in it anymore. Solid as a rock. :dancingbanana::dancingbanana::dancingbanana:

This was right after I removed the receiver and barrel

Ill see how she shoots tomorrow

you know what i did to my Boyd stock when i got it?
i cut a little notch in the bottom of the stock for the safety.
nothing annoys me more than putting that safety half way on when taking the stock in and out.
so i took a rat tailed fine file and chewed off a couple millimeters of product so that is no longer a issue for me.

ive slept much better since.

and no, i have not had that issue with a extractor on any of my 10/22's.
is the spring maybe too tight??
maybe for fun pull the extractor out and the spring and check them out, clean them off with some G96 or whatever your using, put them back in and see if anything changes??
never hurts to try.

that's the gunsmiths equivalent to "have you tried powering it down and back up again?"

I dont have that problem with having to put my safety half ingauged to get it in my stock. I just watch it as Im putting it in and give it a lil wiggle and no prob. :) Maybe next time its out Ill file a little out of the way too, so it will never be a problem.

I have played around with the extractor some and it didnt seem tight. I think its just to close to the bolt face and that there isnt quite enough room for the 22 base to slide up. See if it does it tomorrow.

I used devcon. I did about 1.5" of the barrel, just past the V block.
