10/22 build

One of the fellas at our range has a very similar setup, and his is a very accurate rifle. They can be made to work quite well with the right stuff.

Stupid question, can you build a 10/22 without actually buying a ruger 10/22?

Im genuinely curious, sounds like assembling a 10/22 from parts only would be cheaper then buying a stock 10/22 and replacing everything.

My 10/22 was assembled by all after-market parts even the pins and buffer tube, the only factory part is the magazine from Ruger BX.

I decided to build a 10/22 as a keeper. The first of my parts arrived today.

I ordered a Victor Titan stock and will be going with (most likely) all KIDD parts for the rest of the build.

Seems you choose all the finest quality after market parts. Show the pictures and shooting groups when you finished job. Use some decent .22 ammo and you can join the 0.5 moa club for sure.

I ordered some parts last night from Dlask.

1 - Dlask bolt - nitride finish
1 - Dlask DAR-22 adjustable V block
1 - KIDD Ultralight barrel - black
1 - KIDD 2 stage trigger pack - black
1 - KIDD extractor
1 - KIDD firing pin
1 - KIDD bolt buffer
1 - KIDD cross pin set with countersink
1 - KIDD extended bolt handle (black) with springs kit
1 - black hex head bolt

Parts arrived. Hopefully the stock will be here in a week or so.

There is no Ruger there. I did not start with a donor rifle so every part is aftermarket. I will use a stock Ruger mag though.

Ive often thought about building up a nice 1022 like yourself using all aftermarket parts but then i think of the bill lol. Rugers are the only guns ive ever lost money on

What colour did you order for your stock and scope? Black on black on black? Looks like you've got a Dark Knight build going on. Keep us posted!

I don't intend on selling this one, otherwise it would be a huge loss.
Insert the Kidd barrel to DAR22 receiver is kinda hard.
I bought some anti seize compound and will freeze the barrel prior to install.

Everything will be black except for the red trigger.

edit to add.... I countersunk the receiver pin holes for the threaded pins tonight. I decided to make a little video to test out my new cell phone as I am hoping to make some knife making videos in the new year.

I always say im going to keep them to but somehow theyre the first to go. It should be a great build. I look forward to seeing the finished product
Its fun to assemble projects. The 1022 is like lego for men

I prefer quality over quantity so I will only make one of these and keep it. I can't afford to build something for fun and then sell it off at a loss only to do it again somewhere down the road. I have a Sako Quad that shoots well so that is my bolt action variant that I will am keeping.

I have that stock too. Black with a stainless volquartsen receiver and bead blasted kidd barrel and all kidd parts. It looks like a Cadillac 10/22
