10/22 building , options and opinions please

Recieved my reciever the other day, very nice piece, I'm going to weigh it tomorrow. I've been looking through the Brownell catalog and see the are a few titanium parts that can be purchased like firing pin, extractor and charging handle, are there any downsides to the titanium parts? The prices are very comparable to tool steel pieces.

The extractor is the only thing you need. If you want a good bolt with all the extras, Dlask makes a good one.

The other parts are ok but not needed. However the charging handle with a larger knob on it helps with gloves on.
I bought the CH22 because of the AR style charging handle.
Have fun with your build!

my 10/22 build..
- Ruger factory receiver(for now) doing my homework for a new one
- Tactical solutions x-ring barrel, fluted and threaded
- Hogue overmould 10/22 stock in gillie green
- Tasco pronghorn 3x9 scope ( for now) bushnell ar22 with BDC coming soon :)
- Tuffer Buffer
- auto bolt release mod
- 6-9" bipod
I'm just starting to get into internals here now in a little while and trying to do my homework on trigger groups as well I'm also looking into the last shot bolt hold open.. just something that sounds cool. I'll also be ordering a compensator from wanstalls tomorrow or the next day just to complete the look.

tool steel is much harder than titanium. theoretically they will last longer and be more durable. realistically they will work the same and last for just as long. neither one should fail under normal use. the titanium ones are a bit lighter but you are only talking about a few grams.
