Looking at the Dlask 16.5" barrel for my 10/22, anybody got any experience with these/ know of an alternative at around the $200 or less range?

Side question... Should i switch out the stock trigger before the barrel, or barrel then trigger?

depends a lot on what you want the gun for as to what kinda barrel would be good for ya.
if your just plinking cans and gophers then the stock barrel is fine.
if your looking to make a tack pusher then your gonna need a good bull barrel like a Dlask or a TacSol or GM.
if your looking for a lighter barrel then dont go Dlask they are heavy, Tac Sol aluminum ones are uber light.
if your looking to just pretty up your gun then maybe look at Whistle Pig barrels.

i run a Dlask 18.5 heavy on my tack pusher and LOVE IT!
i also run a Dlask 8.5 on my gopher/can killer and LOVE IT as well.

trigger work usually follows the barrel for most people.
most of it you can do yourself.
if you dont wanna replace parts and spend time polishing then look at Brimestone Gunsmiths, they do a $100 trigger job that im told is the best around.

I have a Mystic Precision Bentz 16", while it is stupid accurate, it is also 3 lbs. I am ditching it for a TacSol X-ring. It has yet to arrive.

i have shot 2 of them so far but dont run any on my guns, maybe my next build.
i dont see anything wrong with them and havnt heard any complaints about them.
i tend to stick to what i know works and right now im having good luck with all my Dlask barrels.

I'm looking to build a Benchrest tackdriver but do to an injury a few years back, I have to build it on a light weight barrel, So Whistle pig, TacSol aluminum or KIDD would be what I'm looking for.

But I'm plan on competing with this rilfe so it has to group very well. it will be using match ammo only.

"TacSol aluminum"???

Is that a barrel that uses an aluminum outer liner for stiffness and weight savings?

ya, it has a nickle inner and aluminum outer barrel.
damn things just floats when you go to set it down.
i had to tether it to my work bench because i was afraid it was gonna fly away on me.

sorry, i was wrong, its not nickle its Chromoly Steel Liner.

here is TacSol page for it.
damn, its only 15oz

My brother has one, the first time I picked it up I allmost threw it through the ceiling.

Any of you guys use one of the cheap bull barrels from Butler Creek? I bought a 10/22 with one a few years ago and it seems pretty accurate but I've never compared it side by side with anything but a factory sporter barrelled one. I keep wondering if I would gain much by going to a Dlask barrel.
