10/22 Bull Barrel

Any of you guys use one of the cheap bull barrels from Butler Creek? I bought a 10/22 with one a few years ago and it seems pretty accurate but I've never compared it side by side with anything but a factory sporter barrelled one. I keep wondering if I would gain much by going to a Dlask barrel.

I had one for years - it killed THOUSANDS of gophers without issues. Like all 10/22's, the ammo choice can make all the difference. Some barrels are very accurate with certain ammo, and crappy with others. Fortunately for me, my BC barrel liked Dynapoints and cheap ammo. Around 3/4" at 50 yards all day long - which made it 'good enough' for me. I've since moved to McGowen and Dlask barrels - but the BC is still miles ahead of the pencil stocker.

Mind you, I've heard it said that if you remove the barrel band, and free float the thin factory barrel, it can produce better groups right then.

Tacsol cost $220-$300 tax in. Very light!
I wanted a whistle pig but couldnt find a Canadian dealer. Didnt want to go through the hassle of paperwork to get one.
Both as I understand it are lightyears better than the stock barrel.

I've used most aftermarket barrels... you will be happy with Dlask... as for which to do first, barrel or trigger group... my answer is; do both at the same time... you are going to anyway.
