10/22 Dlask 16inch barrel at 100 yards

Impressive groups for 1022 and cheap ammo. Just great. I wouldn't worry about fliers either, them aren't foot off or anything, don't qualify for "fliers" altogether.

There is a noticeable improvement, but still a few flyers. If it was throwing them all over, I'd say it was the barrel. But its all vertical, so its the ammo. The barrel looks like it would hold a little over an inch (at worst) if you got the SDs down. Very decent for the price. I did find SK Match (both Pistol and Rifle) had higher SDs than Standard Plus and Pistol Match Special. I didn't try sorting them by weight or rim thickness though.

I'm looking into trying some of the less expensive ammo that performed well at 100 yards in the 6mmbr test. This place has some pretty good prices on Eley and Lapua ammo: http://www.targetshootingproducts.com

0.622 Eley Club $60/brick
0.753 Lapua Super Club $45/brick
0.831 Eley Sport $45/brick
0.859 Lapua Standard Plus $49/brick

I paid 50$ a brick of Eley Standard and 65$ SK Pistol Match at Dante in Montreal last time. And about sorting the ammo by weight and rim thickness, well I don't do that! But might give it a try someday just to see the result! And about cleaning the rifle, you said to not clean it so often? I usualy clean it after all session...I shouldn't?

In my experience, bi-pod's on a hard surface (bench) are the devil for vertical stringing (and accuracy in general). Go get a front sandbag, and see if it don't smarten up a whole lot. The bi-pod works much better when shooting prone with grass or some-such under the feet; but all of my guns I ever tried on a pod shot significantly better off of sandbags than they did on the pod.

Thanks for the tips! I'll give it a try next time...but unfortunatly I don't have any match grade ammo anymore! But will try with Fed 510 and Win 333...

Clean as often as you wish, but just realize that the lubricated match ammo doesn't shoot its best until the bore gets coated again. It may take a couple dozen rounds or it may take a few boxes before it settles down. Depends on the barrel and on the ammo...

hey, just want to give you all some feedback. I forgot I had two box of Eley Standard in my ammo closet. So today I went to the range to try it out with the Dlask setup. This time I didn't shot with a bipod, but with a front sandbag as Brotherjack told me to use. so heres my 2 best groups at 100y ...not too bad...

See, consistent ammo pays off, even in a .22LR. And it doesn't have to be very expensive either. Now take that baby out further. It should give you groups around 3" at 200y and 8" at 300y. Great for practicing wind reading.

thats a great price. I can't tell by your pic if the cheek piece is the same on both sides or just one? and is it heavy esp. with the bull barrel?

the same on both side and the stock is not so heavy....it is made from presswood or MDF...but its a very nice stock for the price....

thanks, i just ordered it. now for the barrel, not sure if i should get the 12 or 16 inch...do you know if the 12" will clear the stock?

look what you made me do...

is the sunshade overdoing it?

she quite the shooter, here's some 3 shot groups at 20 yards with a rimfire scope with some cheap bulk winchester.

im going to try it this weekend at 50 and 100 yards with new scope.

Took my 10/22 (with Dlask 16" barrel, receiver and a Kidd 2 stage trigger) out to 100 yards tonight. Targets shot with bipod/rear bag and SK Standard Plus ammo. Groups all 5 shots. First three groups weren't too impressive, 1 1/2", 1 1/4" and 1 1/8". Took a little 10 minute rest and tried again. Pulled a shot on the next so .950" and the best for last was 5/8".
