I just wanted to comment on the new drums that questar is selling.. I ordered two last week and have had a chance to try them. I used a short krinker plinker.. It was a little tough to load and I let it stand for a few days. Loaded up the krinker and tried a few.. the bolt would not close completely, helped it out for the first twenty or so rounds then it started to run flawlessly.. I think that it will end up being one of my favourite magazines..
I have yet to try it in my r22, but should get a chance next weekend..
Has anyone else had a chance to use one?
 
They're quite pricey, but compared to 4 25-round mags, it would seem to be a savings, especially if they feed reliably. I just can't cough up $100 for a rimfire mag right now.

maybe you missed that these are 50 round drums,not 100 as your math indicates..25 round mags are still a better buy.The mgw drum is 89$ and very well made.The price would need to come down on these for them to be considered "a good buy"
 
Yes, right you are. Somehow I read it as a 100-rd drum, so yep, the Butler Creeks are still a bargain. (For the apparent size of them, they look like they would hold 100 rds)

I am sorry to disagree here, I bought one of the MGW 50 round magazines and returned it the next day. It may be "well made" it was completely painful to load, perhaps the MGW 90 round magazines are different, but the 50 round one is a dog. I will agree that the 25 round magazines are a better buy, just stick with the Butler Creek 25 round steel lips for a more satisfying trip out with your rifle. The 25 round Butler Creek Steel Lips run perfectly the R22, just do not load them with more than 20 rounds.

I burnt out my last MGW 50rd drum and I wont be getting another one.

The springs on the crank wear out fast. Get maby 2-3 uses out of them and the springs start going.
 
I've heard that alot about the mgw drums,ive had nothing but good performance from mine..and a note to anyone intersted in BS steel lips,the tac innovations mags can be had now at the same price as the bc's,and if you've ever used a tac mag,they are the cats ass.
 
this is the promags, not the tear drop ones..black and round.
I also have a few of those tactial innovation mags comeing one day..both aluminum and the new polymer ones.. they are still costly, but everything is these days.. I am glad I work two jobs.

Who is the dealer in Canada for Tactical innovations stuff??

If you have to add shipping and ups fees to the TI mags, the BC still look like a better deal.

Tac innovation is selling them to Canada themselves as of last week,and the shipping is free.
 
what I would love to have is one of those tactial in.... ar upper that uses the american 180 drums.. the am15 But the price is steep and they still are not released..yet? they have a waiting list..

Just got my 3 composite Tacticalinc mags in the mail today. They are very well made and adjust as advertised. The total cost was $145.00 CAN including $21.59 charged by customs. I have ordered a 3 mag+loader package for US$99.00 and ended up with the above total cost so it looks like they charge for shipping to Canada. After adjustments they fit like a glove in my R22. Next comes the range test.

WTF! i was there first Canadian order and i still havent got mine!!arg!

I finally got my mags the day after i posted that,the composite mags might be even better than the stainless ones,they sure feel tough
Good stuff rick,i'm sure you'll be pleased.The krinkers are a blast :)
