Hey guys.. As I'm doing my mini-rifle build for IPSC abroad, I'll be running Butler Creek 25rd mags. Not allowed to couple them, stages are typically maxed out at 24rds, but better safe than sorry, so I'll be keeping 1-2 spare(s) on my belt. Just wanted to check in for those of you who tried to shorten the time between "click" and "bang" (on target lol), what works best.. I'd assume grab the mag left-handed, use the mag to push the mag release and insert? Don't wanna be doing any mag change drills until I get my extended mag release and stock which I'll be running the rifle with.

The pws mag release is awesome. Trigger finger to release mag, should drop out, left had to load mag and rack bolt. Having a larger charging handle helps!

10-22 mags will fit in hk mp5 mag pouches. maybe you can rig some up

Ordered a couple of mag pouches "for BX-25 and other similar magazines" so they should fit the BC's no problem.. Just wanted to hear from people more experienced with the platform whether they found it easier to do mag changes left-handed or right-handed if the goal is the fastest followup shot on target, so I know on which side of the belt to mount the mags.

Thanks go out to you, Moparlover and everyone else who chimes in! Left hand over the top? A larger charging handle will be on its way tomorrow as it was something I expected would be an issue.

Yep left hand over. I have a power custom charging handle. Its almost too big! Do you have a aftermarket buffer and did the auto bolt release? Worked wonders for me.
I have an axiom stock, which is really light and is great for mag reloads and roll over to rack bolt.
The only thing faster would be the pws lever and the ch22 receiver with AR charging handle.

If there is movement in the stage I would do a mag change then no matter how many shots you fired so you don't have to work the bolt. If there is no movement and you think you are going to run out due to misses do one before you run out, say at 20rnds or the 10th target, it's way faster than running out and having to do a mag change and work the bolt. Most importantly, shoot slow enough so you don't miss:) Oh yeah, left hand for the mag changes, trigger finger for the mag release so you are not caught manipulating your firearm with your finger in the trigger guard, that used to be a DQ when I shot IPSC.

Thanks... Actually the main concern is if there's a mag malfunction, so I can at least complete the stage. The other possibility being losing count, but that hasn't happened to me by accident since black badge. Auto bolt release was the first thing that I did as I was doing a trigger job anyway and an RT straight fluted charging handle is on its way.

id turn the gun so the ejection port is facing the ground use one mag to get the other out and load then its a easy reach for the bolt handle pull turn put into should when empty repeat
