Hi guys,
I have install Kidd barrel and Kidd trigger to rugger receiver and ruger bolt.
I am having problems with:
1. Sometimes with one trigger pull, I have double fire, with second round not extracted
2. Also, on few occasions round cycles but when I want to pull trigger, it seems like trigger is not cocked

Please tell me what I need to do to correct those issues. Rifle shoots very accurately at 50m, when it works.
I have spend considerable amount of time to set barrel vs action and it seems that it was aligned properly,
however barrel retaining block is not aligned 90 degrees.

Thanks for any help

are you using subsonic ammo? Or maybe even standard vel? Sounds like sometimes your bolt is travelling far enough back to #### the hammer. I would start by cleaning and polishing the inside of the receiver and outside of the bolt. You can also polish the op. rod. I'm not sure why you're getting double taps though.

Seems to me like its the trigger group, I know by personal experience that if there's not enough of a surface on the hammer and sear to catch properly that it will double fire and fail to reset properly. I would try some other ammo. If it keeps happening I'd be in contact with the dealer you purchased from to see if it can be swapped out for a new group. Again, just my thoughts here.

I had similar issues when I upgraded to my kidd stage 2. In the end I kept the ruger receiver and bolt but polished both and upgraded the extractor. I also ended up getting a kidd charging handle that comes with the different spring rates as seen here:

After swapping out the charging handle spring to whats recommended for bulk ammo versus comp ammo I have never since had a ftf or fte.

Out of the box the kidd triggers perform amazingly, so I really doubt its an issue with the trigger. Also might be worth checking your magazine feed. The bx10s are the most reliable.

Thanks for all kinds of advice.
I will polish the receiver and the bolt today. Will also square the barrel with receiver as per Kidd instruction.

What about changing pre-travel?

You should also double check that the hammer strut is not contacting the stock where it sticks out the back of the trigger housing.

I have squared the barrel vs receiver as per instruction from Kidd and polished bolt and part of receiver.
Rifle is shooting better but still have occasional problem with loading, extracting and got few misfires.
Will Get Kidd charging handle with different spring and Kidd extractor and firing pin. I want to make this rifle feeding all ammo and shoot accurate.
Is this a good way to go?

Thanks

Yes I did lube it but not a lot, just a bit on the spring and inside the receiver.

Can I dry fire 10/22?

Actually it does have a bit of play (twist).

I had a Ruger 10/22 that had an out of spec receiver and the bolt had such excessive play that after about 1000 rounds through the rifle it would pick up rounds from the mag, load them into the chamber and when I would squeeze the the trigger...click,no bang.

With the receiver being so out of spec the bolt would twist so much that it was slowly grinding away the inside of the walls to the point it wouldn't fire or would cause an AD just by racking a round into the chamber.(bolt face striking the rim)

Grinding noise/feeling when you pull back on the charging handle?

I'm willing to bet this is your problem.

If you still have the receiver and bolt under warranty, swap it for a new one.
It may be a problem with your sear or bolt and if you do any polishing to it you may lose your warranty.
.22 is very dirty so make sure you clean after every outing and do not over lubricate.
Cheers!

Here are my new findings,
chamber is really tight compare to original ruger barrel.
I don't know if this is due my dry firing or it comes so tight.

I have swap a extractor and firing pin to Kidd, and also install Kidd charging handle with a 'white' spring.
See if this will help, I hope I don't have to touch a chamber.

After installing extractor and firing pin from Kidd, also adding bolt buffer, my problems pretty much disappeared. I haven't fired many rounds from my 10/22, but gun seems to be functioning better. I also need to tune up charging handle springs for a right load.
Will run more test and then will report final findings. Thanks to everyone who helped me.
