where can I find one of these at? mine disappeared while changing the firing pin?? don't ask, because I don't know what happened.

thanks for the help.

Dig out an old (or new) Bic lighter, and dismantle it. The spring you want is under the flint, and pushes it against the wheel.

Stretch it out a bit, cut a length that will allow light pressure to push the pin forward, and have at.

If you don't particularly like the idea, use it while the two new ones are on order from Ruger. (one and a spare, so that you won't need the spare)

Thanks for the help everyone. I think with all the help i have something figured out.

as a side not...i tried the bic lighter spring and it was to big and seem to get wider as I stretched it?

Thanks all.

I'll have to dredge up a dead lighter and have another look at the spring.

I used the spring out of one for a similar use a while back, and I'm pretty sure it was about or a little smaller than 1/16" diameter.

It should only get longer between the coils, not larger in diameter when stretched.

Sorry for the bum steer!

Cheers

Another vote for WGP. You could have the real McCoy in a couple days instead of finding out the flint in a mini-bic is the same size as the magnum-bic.:p Good time to grab a few other misc pieces too. Like an extractor spring. They've been known to vanish on occasion also.....
