I bought my SR quite some time ago, just starting to use it more now. It is the bull barrel version that isn't threaded at the muzzle. In all honesty, the 10/22 platform has a good reputation for reliability so why wouldn't I give one a try, plus it isn't restricted. And as far as going to the range and see what everyone else is using well, I guess I'm the one trying to set the trend here and am the one advocating rimfire shooting so I am at a loss there. If I had mentioned it was a 10/22 and not an SR my question would have lead to clearer discussion. Elimsprint, what I really am asking is there a bulk ammo, extractor and magazine combination that will help my 10/22run more efficiently. I have upgraded to a power custom extractor, volquartsen trigger, hammer etc... and have both factory mags and steel lips BC mags. I run the action relatively dry, is there a preferable lube to use? I have not changed the recoil spring and am wondering if a lighter spring will help the gun cycle more reliably. I notice I have more jams and stove pipes in cold weather where I assume the powder used in some of the .22 ammo is temperature sensitive. Thanks for your replies.
