Howdy folks - I now officially regret selling my last 10/22...

Looking for a new (or lightly used, of course) base model carbine or compact model. Don't care much about the stock, as I'm going to swap that out anyway. Anyone see any recently? I can't seem to find any with the typical suspects.

Thanks in advance...

Thanks - I do like the service that Prophet River offers, but was hoping for a better bargain. Apparently not likely in this era of Ruger shortages!

Just checked Epps site, they have no 10/22's in stock. In fact they only show one 22 cal semi in stock and it is an off brand. Santa must be stocking up on them for Christmas gifts! Your the first fella I have ever heard make a negative comment on Prophet Rivers service. Usually everyone raves about it.

@mrgoat: I think you misread me - I LIKE Prophet River's service! I was just looking for price point with this purchase.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I wound up buying local because even after the local gun shop inflation it was roughly the same price as shopping online.

That's why I now have a lovely pink laminate stock up for sale in the EE! :)

Basspro in Vaughn, Ontario had plenty in stock two weeks ago.

How much? The one north of Calgary had a standard wood stocked model on the rack a couple of weeks ago for $289. I walked out without at that price, I can wait until reasonable pricing and stock come together again.

I bought the stainless steel version (all weather synthetic stock carbine) that they had it listed for $319.99. They will price match any brick and mortar store in Canada so I brought a printout from Cabelas.ca showing their price of $279.99 and they sold it to me for that price.

Basically, they are a bit pricier but if you find a better price from a legitimate store (meaning not online only) they will match it. They require a printout of the flyer or webpage though.

I suppose I can only speak about my experience at the Vaughan store. Most assuredly I paid $40 less then sticker by bringing in the printout of the Cabelas web page. It can't hurt to try; worst they say is no.
