I've been thinking about doing some trigger work on my 10/22 magnum. Does anyone have any ideas about the best/cheapest way of getting rid of creep, and lightening the trigger a bit? I don't really want to spend $300 for a complete trigger group, just want to clean it up a bit. I have not been able to find much on the magnum version specifically.

Same trigger as any 10/22. Wollf Springs sells a spring kit that'll fix your trigger. $9 US. Add the W's. .gunsprings.com/RifleShotgun/Ruger_RsNF.html#10/22

I would send my trigger to Randy at CPC he does great work & a fast turn around time at a reasonable price too. http://www.ct-precision.com/
If you feel adventureous & want to install one yourself a kit from Volquartsen is a sure bet

I have a 10/22 Magnum and got a complete trigger assembly from www.hornetproducts.com about 2 years ago. Great trigger assembly for about $120 shipped at the time. Now with the Canadian dollar being stronger I'm sure you can get it for alot less. The next best thing would be getting a Volquartsen Trigger Kit.

Just go buy a VQ hammer and you will be more than happy with it , The hammers are the same for the LR and the Mag .......$35ish

VQ Hammer

Has anyone actually installed a VQ hammer in their 10/22 Magnum? VQ does not list it for the magnum, and other suppliers say it will not work in the magnum.

I have actually never tried. I assume that since the only real difference between the 2 is the hammer spring, the VQ system should work.

That's what I thought too. Maybe I'll try one and see what happens. Although your suggestion of a Hornet Assembly sounds interesting. What's yours like as far as weight and creep?

I really like it. Little to no creep ( I actually hadn't even thought of it, must not be any:D ). Trigger pull is crip and is at about 2.5 LBS. Comes with auto bolt release and extended magazine release.

I purchased it about 2 years ago and right now on the hornetproducts website they have a Magnum trigger assembly in black. I bet if you emailed Herm (the owner, great fellow to deal with, his wife is very nice also) they could make one for you in silver. Let me know if you have anymore questions.
