If you're interested in a cheap and cheerful solution, you can use layers of a dense foam (eg. cut up construction knee pads from dollar store) in strips held on by tensor bandage. The newer tensor bandages are rubbery and stick together extremely well. No permanent changes to the rifle, and you can adjust it to the perfect position easily. I've used this many times, works great.

I had an extra spacer from an SGA set and used a dremel to contour the ends of it to fit over the MOE stock and originally held in place with double sided tape. Now put a rivet in each corner as it's not coming off
