I am curious, is the 10-22 stainless rifles made to look like stainless or are they really stainless. If they are Aluminium coated to look stainless then there is no real advantage over the blue models in functionality is there.

Both are painted aluminum receivers. The only difference is the blued vs stainless barrel and color of trigger group. (which is also painted alloy or now plastic.)

From what I have read, it (maybe not barrel) is all aluminum so it isn't real stainless steel or even steel. The trigger housing is plastic so that is coloured and not stainless. I just don't know about the barrel.

The barrel band is plastic, the barrel itself is made of metal.

Now if you reply with something like "and when you pull the trigger a little flag on a stick comes out of the barrel that says BANG on it." Then I would know that was sarcasm.

Wow, that would be why they are 250.00 and the CZ and R-55 are twice that. Thanks.

Cast VS forged and milled, the aluminium/steel difference would'nt change the manufacturing cost all that much. I'm sure the profit margins are similar for the companies though......

You can get stainless components but they aren't cheap. I scored a stainless trigger group when I broke the POS pot metal one while bedding the barrel :(
