I think i'm going to ditch the scope idea and go with a peep sight.
As the 10/22 will be used mostly just for plinking at not-so-scope-friendly distances.
I'm thinking about getting the "Ruger 10/22 Rifle Fire Peep Sight Set"

Is that a good one? Or is there a better one?

I just bought some .22 apertures from williams for my israeli target heavy barrel 98k and they were very good to deal with and helpful on selecting apertures. get a twilight aperture along with the target aperture. The twilight aperture really helps to "pick up" the front sight.

I just received an aperture sight (for my Marlin 795) from Williams on Friday. Now that I've got it installed, it's great, but I had a hard time getting it on. It was probably the same one you are looking at; slides onto the scope rail and is held in place with a set screw? Well either my rail was too big or the groove on the sight was too small. I had to file both the rail and the sight to get it to fit. It looked like crap until I "refinished" it with black magic marker. It's just a plinker gun so no biggie for me.

I think the one I was looking at just screws into the receiver holes that are for the scope mount.

I figured I'd order the one for the sks and 10/22 from sksma, And maybe throw the tapco stocks on both as well!

The "Tech sights" as mentioned above are really good. They give you the same sight picture as an AR and include a front sight in the package.
There are two models, one adjustable for windage only, the other for windage and elevation. I have a set on my 10/22 and can not recomend them highly enough!!

Oh man, those techsights are NICE. A great alternative to the all too common red-dots. That makes me want to get my 10/22 even faster now. Do these guys ship to Canada?

Edit: I just called Tech-Sights and placed an order for the TSR100 sights for my ruger. They were quite nice to deal with on the phone, I can't wait to get them!
