The factory Ruger barrel was an absolute pain in the #### to take out. I was tempted to take a hammer or a mallet to the thing, but just sweated my @$$ off trying to muscle the thing off. It finally started to give and I was able to get it out.

It's a nice looking barrel though, glad I went with it.

I was originally trying to find a threaded blued bull barrel, but they were generally more $$ than I could spend without my wife getting on my case. I really wanted to put some sort of muzzle device on it to complete the look, but the SS barrel doesn't look that bad I don't think.

My little Ruger

Here is mine a very basic Ruger 10/22 with scope.

Please note the firearm was unloaded when this pic was taken also my iphone not myself was in front of the gun.

Here is a pic on the first day with the gun. I had not chambered a round yet but I really should have read about the bolt hold open function.

Here is a closeup of my amateur hour scope mounting note: I had issues with the supplied scope rings so I switched to Weaver scope rings on the Ruger base.

My apologies about not having a really good glamor shot of my Ruger I will have to take my SLR out next time I head to the range.
Just for fun Here is a pic of a ten round group shot at 50yrds with CCI Stingers from a bench rest.

I just finished putting this one together, it started it life in the early 80's as a basoc 10/22 carbine and for the last 10 years or so just sat in the back of my safe unused. So this year I decided to do something with it.
The parts.
Barrel - 16" McGowen .920 fluted
Trigger - Timney
Scope - Nikon rimfire 3-9X40 mounted in weaver tactical rings
Stock - Factory Ruger I got off the EE I beleive it came off one of the Ruger target modles
Extractor - Volquartsen
V-Block - Tactical Solutions SS
Charge handle - Tactical Solutions
Reciever and bolt - Stock with a bit of a polish job.

Used to be a standard carbine model. Changed the stock out for a hogue, mounted a Bushnell TRS25, And installed the Dlask 12.5" factory contour barrel.
Still debating changing out the flash hider for something a little smaller and shorter, but we'll see if it grows on me.

Had this thing out last weekend with the factory barrel still and was hitting steel at 166 yards with the red dot (20 outta 25 rounds), check my YouTube vids for that video :)

Here is my 10/22 in BC Folding Stock.

- Factory 18.5" barrel
- AcraGlas Bedded receiver and barrel (a few inches).
- Cut and reshaped front of stock, filled with AcraGlas.
- Arma-Coated in Matte Black.
- Upgrades (Magpul rail, TI Skeltonized charging handle, TI Billet Paddle mag release, VQ hammer & extractor, High-Viz Front and Rear Sights, NCStar muzzle bling - drilled and re-tapped, QD sling mount cup - set in AcraGlas, Wurstmeister Buffer and Hex takedown screw).
- TRS-25 Red Dot on NCStar see-through rail.

Still need to re-wrap the paracord on the butt stock (for cold weather use), but this is what I've got after the makeover.

Love those stocks

Swapped some parts on my SR-22; TRS-25, ARFX-E Stock, 4" handguard, Kinetech bbl shroud, Charger threaded bbl. Does it ever feel different compared to the OEM bbl with 4 x Dlask rails on the 9" HG.

Thanks to a couple CGN'ers (you know who you are) for helping me along the way.

I have never wanted the SR22 until this. It just looks "right". The optic I don't like, but other wise NICE!

My SR-22. It's a work in progress. Please feel free to make suggestions.

Finally got a chance to post some pics of my 10/22. Here are some specs:
Ruger 10/22 action
Kidd scalloped bolt
Kidd charging handle
Kidd trigger kit - pulls a little under 2 Lbs
Hogue rubber overmold stock - desert tan
Tactical Solutions barrel
bolt buffer
Vortex Crossfire ii 4-12x44 AO
Sitting on JSA Tactical shooting bags which are made in Canada and awsome!

Here are some 5 shot groups at 50 yards the rifle is capable of with CCI Mini Mag hollow points

I Know it's not the rifle's fault, but i'm having a heck of a time completing the 5 x 5 shot groups under 1/2 inch at 50 yard challenge. there is always one group that throws me off! Someday.

Some more pics of the rifle:
