Very nice. That a custom spelted maple stock? And that barrel - where can I find one!? Goes nicely with the ace in the hole

I sanded the paint off a Rock Island Armory stock and to my surprise it was spalted mahogany.Very nice. That a custom spelted maple stock? And that barrel - where can I find one!? Goes nicely with the ace in the hole
That looks pretty sweet! Did that stock come with the adjustable cheek rest or is it something a guy could buy if he knew where to buy it.
I was out shooting my new 10/22 today in the snow. Got it a week ago last Thursday then picked up a cheap 3-12x42 scope for it the day after and got it zeroed in for 30yds. If it's nice again tomorrow I'll go for 100yds if I can get line of sight for that far shooting from the front yard instead of across the back. There's a pregnant doe living in the woods behind the garden shed we've been feeding since the start of Feb and I don't want to spook her.

Thanks it’s a solid little rifle. The cheek riser is just a cheap Kadex riser purchased off Amazon. dreaded drilling the holes but bit the bullet and did it. Turned out well enough I think and far cheaper than getting a chassis as I was considering, besides I like the look of wood and steel.
It shoots well for a semi but generally I run my CZ457’s fo 100meters. This gun was primarily built and setup for Maple Seed. And in the roll it truely excels.
I now wears a lighter smaller scope and I removed the dlask compensator (went to one of my CZ). It’s now a bit lighter still and better balanced for shooting unsupported.
Had it for sale for a bit but my daughter talked me into keeping it (she likes it but it’s still a bit big for her, won’t be long till she steals it).

Here’s another ugly duckling..
Best looking one on here! That’s a 10/22 I could see myself owning. Well done!Put this together as well, came factory with a Magpul MOE stock, swapped that out with a factory international stock and popped on a set of Samson iron sights. Put a flash hider on as the thread protector kept coming loose.

A previous iteration of my only remaining 10/22:

I loved those Nodak sights but with such a short barrel the sight radius didn't make it easy to shoot up to the gun's capability.
The same gun today:

The gun is now a sort of Scout-rifle understudy. That Leupold is mounted in an intermediate position, halfway between the traditional scope location further back and the Cooper-mandated scout position further forward. It's pretty much my favourite set-up now, combines the best of both worlds. I have the same scope mounted in the same fashion on my Steyr Scout and a couple of others.
That stock ^ was purchased new...as a Fajen rather than a Boyd's!...back in 1972.

The Dlask barrel is from about 15 years ago. Other bits'n'pieces came and went over the years. I probably assembled (nobody is "building" anything here...) a dozen or more assorted 10/22's over the years, but I'm done now.
Probably the 6th or 7th time I've said that, but I really mean it this time...This gun currently has between 12000 and 13000 rounds through it.
No, sorry...I sold them shortly after removal. I had to; if I'd kept them I would have wound up with another 10/22 just so I could use them, and I am trying to reduce my numbers, not grow them.Nice setup.
Don’t suppose you still have those nodak sights and would consider selling?
That's a beautiful setup. Is the top charging handle accessible with the optics so close?Build details:
- SBI G3 Chassis. Tanodize.
- SBI ST-22 receiver with AR style top charging handle.
- Kidd bolt, firing pin, springs, extractor.
- Dlask 16" heavy, fluted barrel.
- Daniel Defense stock and grip. Vortex mount. (All custom Cerakoted. Pulled them off another rifle.)
- Volquartsen TG-2000 trigger group with auto bolt release and rapid mag release.View attachment 1001527View attachment 1001528
What chassis is that?It looks like this now...
Really nice looking setup. What's in the build? Here’s my 10/22, and that one is short, just above 26 inches long, so still a non restricted ! Really fun plincker! But to be honest, I’m not super peaceful about the idea it’s 26.1 inches long, I might add a pad to the stock to give me a bit more overall length.
Yes it's no problem at all. As a righty I much prefer charging with my left hand so this works great! That's a beautiful setup. Is the top charging handle accessible with the optics so close?

Thanks ! Since then I have changed few things on it, but here’s the list of what you saw in the pictures :Really nice looking setup. What's in the build?
