i just went thru the tips sticky and saw the pics of the nicely polished trigger parts. can someone recommend a tool or process to accomplish this?

It's easily accomplishable by emery cloth. I did it the first time by hand by going from medium to fine to extra fine. You can go the extra step with a buffing wheel and some jewlers rouge if you really want it smooth. I didn't and it worked good for me. Just remember not to play around too much on the surfaces that the hammer and sear hook together with.

A dremmel tool may also work good. I would just polish the matching surfaces on the sear/hammer.

PS: Jager, i noticed you live in Nanaimo. I live down in Parksville

I never use oil in semis. Oil collects powder residue.
I treat the parts with moly-slip or militec, clean with solvent, and use a dry teflon lube.
Never seen any rust on any of my 10/22 action parts, even after sitting for years with no oil.
