10/22 power custom bolt handle?

So I tried to install the handle. Silly me didn't look at it closely before the install. When I took out the power custom handle to clean the reciever, the handle came off the end and the spring fully extended. All I could find on the floor was a little pin that looks like it retains the handle on the rod. It looks just like the pin in the google pics. However it slides alot and would work itself out when I pull back and forth on the handle when installed in the reciever.
Am I missing another pin or spring?

Guess you are to remove the retainer pin on install.

The pin is not necessary. It merely holds the the handle spring & guide rod together during installation. I have the same handle as you & I just use a very small finishing nail to hold the assembly together & then remove the nail once all is in place,

once you get used to installing without the pin, you can chuck it. is just there to help install it. just as the instructions say.
