Hey All,
I have been having an issue with a 10/22 that my father bought in about the mid 60s.
Recently it has started mis-feeding while stripping rounds from the magazine, I blamed this on poor mags ... but
this weekend while replacing the barrel, it started to missfeed on almost every round. Visually it looks like the round is 1/2 stripped from the mag and then binds. I took everything apart ensured it was back together correctly, cleaned and put back together. Problem still existed.
So I manually pushed the bolt home and it fires and ejects perfectly and fails to load about 98% of the time. It looks to me like the operation spring isn't strong enought to push the bolt over the ejector (not extractor). Has anyone else had this problem?
Does it Sound likely that the action spring has lost its sprung
??
Let me know if you have any ideas, thanks in advance,
Craig
