10/22 question

I am wanting to buy a ruger 10/22 with a wood stock. The problem is that there are no wood stock models around where I live. If I buy a nylon stock model can I just bolt on a wood stock later on. Are all the parts compatable?

You can Welder01.
ALL stocks (as long as they have the same barrel channel) are interchangeable as are the parts.

Not meaning to hi-jack the thread but I have a question, I'm looking at getting a 10/22, I've noticed that some have barrel bands and some don't, is there a reason for this? Is one better than the other? Thanks

There is are 2 models without a barrel band and it's the compact model and target model. The target model has a heavy barrel.
