1) how picky are they when it comes to ammo?

2) ive seen video's of guys whove converted their 10/22's to full auto...besides being illegal...does anyone have any other information about them?

thanks :)

The guns are usually pretty tolerant of ammo when using the factory mags. Good aftermarket mags feed well, just avoid Ramline.

An SOT in the US named Norrel made a very popular conversion kit prior to the US cut off of new MG's in 1986. He still has new kits in stock, releasing a few every year at steadily increasing prices. The kit included a modified bolt, trigger housing, trigger, and a new selector. They'd been in production for a few years prior to May 1986, but rumour has it Mr Norrel lived on coffee and very little sleep, cranking out parts just prior to the cut off.

I don't believe any were imported prior to the 1978 ban in Canada.

1) about the same as most other .22lr semi-auto's. Mine has 1 in 15 FTE with the federal bulk packs but no problem with the winchester bulk packs or any other type of plated or copper washed bullet I have tried. Lead on the other hand seems to have a hard time feeding.

2) I am sure google is your friend for some reading material but I would stop at reading about it :slap:

Read all you can on rimfirecentral.com lots of mods and info in there. If your even a little handy, you can do them all yourself. I've done 5 so far, and they all work like a charm.

Both of mine like Mini mag over all others. Penny sized holes 10 rounds at 25 yds with factory barrels.

Education is education...but be aware that - even for reading purposes - there are a lot of nutjobs, wannabees and even LEO/lurker-types out there.

I fail to see your point? It is not like I posted a PDF on how to convert a 10/22 to F/A.

Never heard of such a thing. Certainly not something you could find on pirates bay. Even thinking such a thing is very naughty. Turn yourself in to the local constabulatory, at your earliest convenience.

As far as being picky with ammo, they can be, but typically I find, the higher the velocity the better for cycling the action, but not necessarily for accuracy. I can shoot 1 inch groups at 25 yards and have to clear the action of stovepipes twice in 25 rounds, or I can do 2 inches and everything works perfectly. Course mine is bone stock, any upgrades should improve both of those.

i baught a 25 round buttler creek magazine that has metal instead of plastic on the feeding part...good mag?

My point? Well, whatever it was, I can assure you that it most certainly was not a criticism of you; your post was solid. I think - at the time - I was trying to the thread's originator about where he looked for information, outside of CGN. ;)

Steel seems to be preferred to the plastic-lips; I like my steel-lipped BC.

Better than the plastic one, anyway :)

What he said. Now, if you want to discuss TI mags...:D
