10/22 questions

I used to have a 10/22 and enjoyed it and would like to get another. I've been looking at all the models and noticed the Target model advertises an improved trigger.

Is the trigger on the target model much better than the one on the standard model ?

My experience is the base model ( at least the one I had ) was very accurate and worked perfect. Other than a crappy trigger it was great. Are the ones they make now just as good ?

Is there a model with a few bells and whistles ( Better trigger and a heavy barrel) That is cheaper than a base model plus an after market trigger, stock and barrel ?


Finally who makes the best 20-30 shot mags for these guns ?

butler creek steel lips are the best 25 round mags. as for the rest of it i'm not sure, but someone will come around and inform us both!

Have you considered the Promag Marauder or Archangel kit for the Ruger ?
Hopefully the new Promag Marauder mags will be as good on mine as they have on some others on here. I have 3 of the new version mags but only fired 100 rds or so out of them so far ..With a few parts and a little modification the mags can fit all of the stocks out there I believe.
