Hey guys. Looking to do a 10/22 build. What’s a good source for a receiver? I’m looking for one with an integrated Picatinny rail milled into the receiver. Similar to Dlask dar22 (those are sold out on Dlask sight btw).

Any website directions would be appreciated.

Cheers

Honestly, wait for the DAR-22's to come back into stock. They are milled from 7075, unlike almost all the other aftermarket receivers which use the lower grade 6061, and the price is reasonable. I've had the DAR-22 and the Volquartsen stainless steel receiver with the integrated rail, and in practical terms, all the Volquartsen adds (besides bling) is weight and cost.

The VQ receiver shown on Sylvestre's site (assuming it's accurate), isn't even an integrated rail model, you can see it's just screwed on. Major fail if that's the case, especially for the price.

Just took a look. Seems nice but is it really worth the asking price? My plan wasn’t to build a 1022 worth more than my Mk18..LOL

Dlask has their "DAR-22 Barreled Action, Cerakote Option" still in stock, FDE with a 16.5" or ODG with 12.5" are still in stock.
Might be your quickest option to getting a Dlask receiver.

I have a volquartsen stainless receiver with all kidd parts. What a smoooooth action with the kid bolt and kidd guide rod. My dlask was not even close to as smooth but much lighter and still tough in design :) to me the volquartsen receiver was worth the money

Thanks for all the feedback. I ended up ordering a tactical innovations elite 22 receiver.

Now here is another question (without starting a new thread). Outside of a trigger, what are some of the "essential" upgrades to a 10/22 build. My plan is a short barreled (12.5 or so) plinker. My intentions are not to build a tac driver.

Also are Dlask 10/22 barrels any good? Im an AR guy and I know I would not buy one of their AR barrles but how about 10/22?

Can't comment on the Dlask barrels. Never had one. I bought one of the Kidd Ultralight barrels. Its awesome I am very happy with it.

I know you said you aren't looking for a tack driver, but the Kidd UL shoots great, very lightweight and practical. Also they are absolutely gorgeous manufacture. It's pretty much the best of both worlds. Just make sure it installs very tight into the receiver as that's a critical accuracy component for the 10/22.

Cool thanks. I feel like a Kidd barrel is more expensive than I want to put into a 10/22, thats why the Dlask barrels are so appealing. I may need to look into Kidd, however hopefully someone chimes in who has Dlask experience.
