Due to members building 10/22's from scratch, there are some that would like to buy just a receiver. What would you be willing to pay for a milled receiver with integral weaver rail with the option of a threaded barrel? There would be several types available, standard aluminum in bare or anodized black, and anodized black with extended rail. Probably be in the $250 range if it happens. now with pics

Will they be made in canada? If so and you can do them for $250 I would be impressed. And If you had them I would buy one, but you better look into the appropriate government laws on manufacture of firearms. Let me know if you get this going! Good Luck, we need more Canadian firearms manufacturers!

yes

Wham-O, you are correct, the Razor receivers look like the real deal, but I am just sending out feelers right now to see how much interest there is. I bought a mill, so I can do a good job of getting the holes exact. The $250 number I threw out is a guess, but until I get one to see how much time is involved in finishing, it is only a guess. I believe in Canada we need to be able to buy bare receivers, and I am trying to fill that gap. I will get in touch with the government to find out the legality of this venture and keep the forum posted. Later, Mark.

I like the idea. My only problem is cost. Why would I buy a bare receiver for $250 when I can buy a used gun for that?? At least if I buy a used gun I can use/sell the parts. For me $100 bucks is what I think its worth... $250 IS WAY to high. If you look at how cheap you can find bare ar lowers I think you will agree with me.I also believe that others will not buy at that price.

............Oh and the CFC just might give you some grief over the whole Select Fire thang.

I hope you succeed. I was wanting to do the same thing.
Being a machinist and 10/22 owner, I saw how crappy the receivers are made after having to strip the other half of the "stainless steel" paint off.
There are blue prints to make them off the net, $25 or so.

I might be interested if there was No finish on it & No threaded barrel option. I was thinking of a project and just have a gun-kote finish applied in my choice of color.

You would have a very hard time making these for $100. Those cheap ar lowers are made in the states where labour is cheap we dont have people here that work for $4 and hour. What is your time worth? If you are going to spend $1300 building a rifle whats another 250 to make it truly "custom"? just my 2 nickels

promised pics

I got one together, haven't shot it yet, got cold and haven't made it to the range yet, cold here in AB. Would have posted it earlier, but my boy's hockey takes up lots of time. Here are some pics of the receiver, turned out nice and the quality is great.
