10/22 receiver

instructions

As far as instructions go, all you really get and need is a good schematic. I bought a small mill, so doing this kind of work becomes easy and very precise. It is straight forward drilling for the most part, but the tenon hole has to be perfect with this type of receiver, as there isn't much leeway for error when it comes to the scope. Later.

I got one together, haven't shot it yet, got cold and haven't made it to the range yet, cold here in AB. Would have posted it earlier, but my boy's hockey takes up lots of time. Here are some pics of the receiver, turned out nice and the quality is great.

How come the receiver looks to be sitting high in the stock?

rail

The integral rail adds quite a bit of height to the receiver. I have a 50mm bell scope with only medium burris rings and the scope clearance is perfect. It may also look that way as it is a barracuda stock, so it is a little low at the back end to begin with. That is what you get with an integral rail. Later.

more pics

I got another receiver done, it is the extended rail in raw aluminum. This one looks real cool, I prefer the extended rail myself.

registering

I checked with the CFC before doing any of these, all I need to do is created my own serial #, stamp it on the part(as long as it is not used elsewhere), and then call the CFC with that number and have them register it. There are trigger housings available already, Rimfire Technologies makes them and they are very nice, although I don't see a problem with the Ruger offerings. The plastic ones are ok if you oversize all the holes to make them tighter. Later.

this new one you have looks better with the improved rail.... But the receiver still sits high on the stock.. I know you said it needed to be bedded but if it gets bedded lower won't the ejection port be lower in the stock and you would then have to trim the side? if you look at your picture you see what I'm talking about.

So bump bump

How the heck to i buy just the ruger 10/22 receiver??

ive been searching everywhere on here for answers.

Can i get someone to order me one?

id just hate to have to buy a used 10/22 for $250-300 only to not use everything except the receiver.
