Hello all,

I recently purchased a ruger 10/22 a week ago. as I was replacing the mag release, I notIced that the safety depressed once I removed the stock. The safety sticks out more on one side and won’t function properly. I looked it up and found that the safety needs to be “turned” and reset so I did that and it worked and I reassembled it. out of curiosity I removed the stock again and the same thing happens, did it multiple times and the safety always needs to be turned and reset. So my question is... is this normal? Has anyone had the same issue? Or do I just send it in for warranty. Thanks for any info or feed back.

Your gun should have no magazine and no round in chamber. #### the action and place the safety between fire and safe when removing barreled action. It can be difficult as it wants to jump into the fire position or safe position but this prevents it from rubbing on the stock when removing. Some of the plastics stocks are sprung and tight so removal of material as suggested will help.
