Hey guys,

Picked up a new 10 22 all weather this morning in Calgary and a Simmons 3x9 which they mounted and bore sighted for me. Off to the range I go with my new toy and spent 3 hours getting it dialed in. I then noticed my shots were WAY off, and when I checked the gun, I could see that the scope had moved forward and was almost falling off. Any advice here? I was hoping that I can remount the scope and lock tight everything in place. I've heard that 10 22s are hard on scopes, but on the first day after only 200 rounds?

Thanks for any tips.

That does sounds strange I just bout a 10/22 with the same scope a couple weeks ago and no issues... It did take my a little bit to sight it in but I think that was only cause it was my first time sighting in a scope. Nothing came loose though. I did get different rings than the one it came with though as suggested by the guy at the store don't know if that might be the issue

do you mean the rings walked up the scope rail, or the scope slid up in the rings? sounds like it wasnt tightened down properly, I had a simmons mini mag 4x28 on my 10/22 for years tightened with a loonie that never moved or lost zero, no loctite whatsoever. I dont know where you heard 10/22's are hard on scopes, but I've never heard of it. I could be wrong though. Try putting it back where it was and snug everything down and give it another try. Take required tools with you incase it needs adjustments or retightening, that will tell you if it needs loctitie, but it shouldnt. Good Luck

The rings that come on those are a little cheap buy some new ones that will lock onto the weaver style base . I've had the same thing happen with the cheaper rings that just clamp into the 11mm rails.

almost word for word what they guy at the store said when i bought mine. got different rings and i have already put over 1000 rounds down it and no issues

Thanks guys. The rings are walked themselves right off the rail...I'll look at new rings I guess but first I'll try re-tightening these ones down.
