10/22 short bbl

Just wondering what is the shortest bbl i can put on my 10/22 legally. Do the same overall lengths apply to rimfire? does the bbl have to be manufactured? thanx for any input.......

You can not cut down your own barel under 18.5 i believe.You can however install a factory short barel as long as it stays overall length of 26.5.
I have a 11.5 ER shaw barel on mine.

You can have as short of a bbl as is manufactured as long as OAL is over 26" I think. I believe the shortest i've seen around is 11.5 "?

Depends on the province you're hiunting in. I like the paint job on the stock. think it would look even better with some sort of stabilizer/comp screwed on the tip

AFAIK, the minimum barrel length is the same as for a handgun. The 26.5 inch OAL reference is only if you want to keep it non restricted.

You can not cut your own below the 18.5 inches mentioned without making it a prohib device. A shorter barrel has to be born that way, from a licensed manufacturer.

I usually don't get to shoot during the winter months so I have not shot it since I put the barrel on.

Tactical solutions have a 5" barrel, its for the charger but it would work.

The 8.5 inch barrel on a standatd stock is 27" overall. so if you put a 5" barrel you would still need to increse the LOP by 2.5" or permanently add 2.5" to the barrel to stay non-restricted.

I also have a 11.5" on my 10/22. 30" OAL.

Made a 25M grouse shot this AM.
