If it's a new made barrel and not a cut-down job,and you stay over 26" oal,you are good to go.

Throw a folder on it or have a short stock and the OAL goes under 26",it's restricted (ala Krinker plinker)

You could have a 106mm 10/22 barrel on there as long as it was made new that lenght and it was registered as restricted.
Now that would be a weird looking rifle!

^ you betcha Ronin!

My concerns arose when my gunsmith mentioned something.

That being said Iam pretty damn sure I am GTG.

Perhaps I should chuck it on an post a pic for review?

You can go any length even below 106mm. Its a rifle, not a pistol, its pistols that are limited to 105mm.

Your kidding right ??????????

Do a little research....like about 5 minutes worth....and answer your own question.........

I have used the search function and found conflicting information in the various threads. I thought I would ask since I thought this is a discussion forum.

From what I can tell, one would need to have the reg. cert. changed to reflect the shorter barrel, correct?

It says on my latest registration for a couple of guns that you must report within 30 days "any modification to the firearm that changes its classification (non-restricted, restricted, prohibited)" I take that to mean that as long as the gun is still non-restricted in its new form then you don't have to tell them diddly.
