So years ago i bought a 10/22 to enjoy some plinking and really just for the days that i wanna go out and move lead around really fast...

But with the limits of 10 round mags for 10/22's are they still the best banger for that?

Is there a better comparable platform?

I don't like the fact that the rc's are messing with our fun, but it's not enough to make me turn against the platform.
I have 6 ten round mags for my 2 10/22 rifles.
Changing from one to the next really does not take long IMOHO.

However Dlask will be releasing High Capacity mags soon enough.
Many will want a new Tuff 22 Receiver for the new magazines.
They are also going to release the dimensions so gunsmiths, machinists, and tinkerers can modify Ruger receivers to fit the new mags.

I think 10/22s are plinkers no matter how many rounds you're allowed to have along for the ride. I also never saw the appeal of high capacity mags no matter what gun is involved, so I've always found it odd that anyone would choose a gun based on that. I had my one and only 10/22 well before the 10 round max thing came into play, and I never even considered anything but the flawless-running, flush-fit factory 10 rounders. If you like 10/22s...shoot them as is, period. As an option, the OP could consider one of those 10/22, 10rd. mag couplers. Would allow 10+10+10 with quick access/change.

For the record~I'm as bothered with the government as the next guy, and feel this change to 10/22 mag capacity is an absolute joke. I mean...has their been a rash of gun crimes involving Ruger Chargers in Canada that I'm not aware of? Give me a BREAK! Just because I have no need/desire, doesn't mean I like to see unjustified, more limiting changes to our gun laws. We need more common sense at the Federal level, and not some teary-eyed, pandering blow-hard like Turdeau.

Sorry to swing this around to politics...but it's politics making things worse for all of us.

10 round doesn't bug me. Dlask got a solution coming out soon, plus I won't exactly recommend buying a 10/22 from Ruger anyways. Might as well start off with aftermarket from day one. If you have no intention into getting in the aftermarket game, I heard good things about the Remington 597.

For your old 10/22 you can buy an adapter for a Remington 597 30-rd mag from here: https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/for...city-Is-Back-SBI-Ruger-10-22-Magazine-Adapter
I bought one and the new CLEAR Remington 597 magazine with the adapter fits very well into my 10/22. However, with a brand new Remington mag I had a few FTEject/FTFeed. I'll try to break in the mag a bit more. So far, the adapter/new Remington mag combo is working, may be not perfectly, but reasonably well. In a while, Spectre Ballistics International will make an aluminum insert to the adapter which may improve its function.

Feel the same way, about everything.

Am I the only one who enjoys the 10/22 for the fact that it has a flush fit removable magazine?
I was selling my hi caps before I knew about the ban to buy several more 10 round factory ones. Dont know about you but i rest my hand directly where the magazine is. Love the 10/22

Not saying i agree with the way the law is i just like Bill Rugers design!

I like them, its one of my favorite 22,s to shoot, its not as accurate as some of the others, but I think its the best bang for the buck.

as the quote goes... the law is an ass. However I really agree that the flush fitting trouble free 10 rounders are great. I also like the Browning t-bolt mags (new series) that figure eight config is quite nice.

I still like the 10/22.
