Hi!

I hunt partrige and rabbits in a small piece of woods that belongs to my family, near a residential zone. I am a safe shooter and all, and would never take a shot in the air or in an unsafe direction, but my father is concerned about the noise of my 12 ga. So my next option is my 10/22. Any of you guys have tried some subsonics sold by our site sponsors(ideally) that cycles well in a 10/22?

I'd like to buy a bunch of some good stuff so I can practice before taking a shot at live things...

Thanks for any advice!

(sry if this thread belongs somewhere else...But I thought this is adressed to 10/22 owners so...)

Don't think a stock 10/22 will cycle them. I have a PC hammer/sear kit in mine, and everything is polished. It cycles most of the time. I use cci cb longs 695fps, and have tried remington cbee's 740fps. The cci's are quieter, and more accurate, but the remingtons have a little more speed, noise and power and cycle all the time. Lots of pros+cons.

I have shot the subsonics from my stock 10/22 but just used my hand to sycle them. For the few time I need them, pulling the handle beween shots is no big deal.

cci subs cycle perfectly in a stock 10/22

Subsonics are quite different than CB loads ! ....:yingyang:

My Remington 550-1's will cycle the Remington CeeBee's in a semi-automatic fashion....:)...but not the CCI CB's........now, the 552 Speedmaster won't cycle either....;)

I could do that...But I don't want malfunctions due to the bolt partially cycling, so I guess what I am after is a subs load with as much recoil as possible...something like a 40gr...this would have more punch too, wich is nice...

I thought more people would have the same concern, since a lot of us aren't living up north in unpopulated areas...

Subsonics are different than CB's, they go around 1000fps. They will cycle, but are quite a bit louder than a CB.

OK well all i know is that i use CCI subsonics .. with my suppressor :owned: and they cycle nicely .. and are QUIET ( this being the only reason i would use them )

they also cycle the action on my walther G22 which is quite a bit heavier than the 10/22

@*#)%^ Kiwis and their toys.........;)
