I'm a new shooter, I'm looking to buy a Ruger 10/22 and dress it up with an archangel kit. Now I've already bought the kit, but I still need to get the gun. My questions are

1. I want a 10/22 with a thicker barrel (just for aesthetics when the archangel kit goes on. The hand guard it comes with is pretty large). Is there a stock model that offers a thick barrel?

2. Do all 10/22 accept .22LR and .22mag ? Or do you have to buy a special model to shoot .22mag rounds? I haven't seen a .22mag model online yet (maybe i'm blind, or just don't know what i'm looking for) but I do know they are a longer round.

Thanks in advance for any info

I'm pretty sure there is a 10/2 'Target' model that looks like it has a stainless steel barrel. I might just be making that up though...

The .22LR & .22WRM are not interchangeable. To save money, you might want to buy a basic 10/22 and then purchase an aftermarket barrel separately, such as a Butler Creek or Dlask - there are many others too. Good luck with your project, although I'm not a fan of the Archangel kit I hope you enjoy yours. Post some pics when your're done.

Thanks, I didn't want to have to purchase a separate barrel, but oh well. I plan on documenting the build, wont be done for a while, but well definitely post a nice thread with pics and maybe video when its done.

Cheers
