10/22 Tactical stock replacement

I'm looking for a 10/22 with a tactical look and the "10/22 Tactical" seem fine for me from the store. But, I have a strange question: can you replace the stock and put back a "classical" stock on it?
I'd like some versatility and want to know if it's as customizable as the standard one

its a normal 10/22 receiver in a hollow plastic shell. It wont have a top rail but I think its still tapped for one. That said you could get a 10/22 and put it in a tactical stock that isnt plastic.
