Really looking at buying one of these puppies.
Just curious if the newest models have had all the links worked out?

Been hearing about crooked sights, and peening barrels, and not locking up tight...

Just don't wanna go spend nearly $400 on something I'm just gonna have issues with.

Thanks for any help guys.

I believe that most of the problems were in one of the early runs that came through. I haven't heard a single peep about problems with the takedowns in 6+ months.

I just bought one and have only been to the range once but I could not be happier with it. Although I did not use the iron sights, as I had mounted a scope, they do appear to be aligned perfectly. As for not locking up tight, there is an adjustment for that and works quite slick in my opinion. All in all a great little gun. Time will tell.

I'm on the fence here too the new I tac is nice too though. I've ditched the heavy barrel because of the weight while hunting plus I have a m77 for that now

I have one of the first ones off the line and the locking ring gave me issues from day one. Ruger pulled through and on their dime replaced it and had it shipped back to me within a month. Since then its been a solid little pack rifle.

I combined mine with the takedown barrel mounted sight from skinner

and now am thinking about getting one of the underfold takedown stocks hical is bringing in.. would be perfect for strapped to my pack.

Hey fair enough! It's nice when a manufacturer stands behind their product!

I bought one shortly after posting this thread, and I'm loving it! Mounted a bushnell TRS 25 and it's quite the plinker!
No issues yet. Infact I'm selling off a couple guns to find some jeep parts and this is the only one that's staying!
That says something!

I have an early one and had the crooked sights/ peening issue. It was fixed and back in less then a month even with Canada Posts time included. Hasn't missed a beat since then. I added tech sights and a replacement trigger and it's great. I think it might get a seeall now. Great rifle.

'Just got my Takedown home last Saturday!

Nicely made, goes together tight - and it comes in a GREAT bag.

Couldn't be happier with my new SHTF acquisition.

I had one of the first ones to arrive in Edmonton, had a multitude of issues with it, however it remained very accurate despite it all. Last straw was when the chamber mushroomed making take down difficult. Sent it in for warranty about 10 months after purchasing, ruger replaced it completely.

New one has been flawless, and finish was much better. Admittedly, I've shot it much less than the original, but no problems so far. Performed flawlessly during hunting season as my grouse gun, and was accurate with just the stock irons.

Do you have a link to this stock?

Not exactly valuable input, but I got an early model TD and it has been flawless. It was my first 10/22 and it has impressed me.
