10/22 takedown heavy barrel?

Does anybody know where I can get an upgraded barrel for my 10/22 takedown? There are tons available for the standard version but I'm having trouble finding one for my takedown. I'm not into that SB-X barrel, the shroud and short barrel just aren't to my liking(unless you can leagalize suppressors).

That's a nice kit but $370 usd ouch. I had a green mountain heavy sporter tapered barrel turned down by my gunsmith.
 
I'm looking and not a fan of the SB-X too. Hoping Tactical solutions will continue with its line of barrel/ hogue stock combos and eventually offer a threaded fluted bull in hogue stock for the TD. Right now Volquartsen and McGowan seem to be the only others making TD barrels.

There's also a guy in the California Gun Discussions forum who's gone ahead and machined his own barrel..... A friend of mine and I are in the planning/research stages of delving into the murky world of barrel making within the near future. We've been playing with my lathe and his new cnc milling machine and have had some excellent results duplicating bits and pieces of firearms. We won't know unless we try.... I'm sure that even if we are successful after tests and tooling we won't be in the black on this project.

So if you dont mind me asking. What is so wrong with your rifle. Why do you think a new barrel will fix anything? Shouldnt your gun being newish shoot ok?
