I was out sighting it in this weekend with CCI Minimags and Butler Creek steel lipped mags and I was getting constant double feeds. It was hard to string 2-3 shots together without having to clear a stoppage. Does anyone know if the 10/22 takedown has known issues like this? Or the mags? I didnt test with the factory mag as I didnt bring it.

Strange. So both cartridges are mangled and unfired whey you clear them.
Trying the factory mag seems like the easiest place to start.

Did you clean the rifle before shooting? I had huge issues with double feeding in mine it was jam city! I found that the cci's don't like the butler creek mags but they worked well in the factory mag. I found that the federal bulk and the remington thunderbolt worked flawlessly in the Butler creek and HC3R mags. Go figure.

i get the same issue with my 10/22 with the butler creek steel lips, if i try and let er rip i can get about 10-15 shots before i get a double feed, found that keeping it to 20 rounds or less for whatever reason makes the problem go away for the most part with only the odd failure to eject, as for why, i have no clue, i just jumped into the wonderful world of rifles in march
the factory 10 round though seems to have no issues at all, someone told me something to do with spring wear ?

I tried round nose minimags and hollow point winchester bulk in my T/D with butler creeks and had no problems whatsoever. Probably less than 200 rounds since I cleaned the rifle. Not sure how it would perform when dirty.

My 10/22 TD does not like the Butler Creek mags for whatever reason as well. Every other shot will get jammed into the top edge of the breech. I switched to the TI-25 mags and haven't a problem since.

I bet your factory 10 rounder will feed them fine though.

I use about twenty different BC steel lip mags with my 10/22 TD with no problems using winchester power point ammo.

I just got my 10/22 today - it came with a BC mag and I bought Winchester ammo - every second round jammed. I put on a 100 round drum and there was no issues. I thought I saw somewhere someone mention about filing a part of the BC mag if it keeps catching. Anyone done this yet?
