Looked at a few forum discussions of this same thing from over the years thanks to a quick Google search. Seems one guy had one on so tight that Ruger support agreed he had tried everything and needed to send it to them for removal. He got it back, brake removed, and was happy. Otherwise folks seem to report anything from finger tight to needing a large Torx bit or box wrench to remove it with a lot of force and the barrel held in wooden vise blocks. Steady firm pressure should get it off. If not, maybe contact Ruger.
