10/22 takedown screw

Hey guys. Looking at buying an old 10/22 thats missing its takedown screw. was wondering if its ok to take it to the range and test fire it without the screw to test the action etc.

I don't see why not, although I'd put a couple good rubber bands on it myself. They should hold it together while you test it out.

Just don't get crazy and try firing it out of the stock. Unless you get some good video of it. Dlask sells the bolts for like $5 or so.
