I have a 10/22 takedown tactical and I'm currently looking into sight/optics for it. Obviously the easiest thing would be to just put the rail on the receiver and mount my optic on there. But the shift in POI when removing the barrel makes that a no go for me. So I'm left with upgrading the factory sights, or see if I can find some sort of scout mount that will attach to the barrel, but I don't know of any.
So what's out there for quality replacement sights and scout mounts for the 10/22?

Tighten up the barrel friction ring I don't notice a point of aim shift at 50yards not really a 100yard tack driver anyways. I have a vortex 1-4 in low rings nice fit only thing I don't like is you still loose your irons unless you take the rail off the receiver.

I've already tightened the friction ring, it was the first thing I did as my barrel was pretty loose from factory. I've heard some say that it holds zero fine, and others that don't (maybe user error?). My brother has a takedown with a RDS, and he's saying the POI shifts slightly. But I haven't check to see how tight his barrel is.
I'm also wanting to keep this rifle as simple and lightweight as possible. So I'm kind of leaning more towards iron sights. I just don't care much for the factory ones. They work well enough I suppose, but I hate the sight picture.

I seen some tru glow sights on the ee but money is tight they looked interesting though, I don't mind the sights the scope improved my hit ratio.

I believe Skinner makes a peep that will replace the factory sight. There is a rail that mounts on or over the barrel, made by Amega or Omega, something like that.

I looked at those too, but they have horrible reviews. Not enough elevation adjustment, and flimsy.

Those skinner sights is excatly what I need. But I can't seem to find who carries them in Canada.

I put tech sites on mine. The ts100 ones. They are great.

I thought about doing the tech sights too, but the rear sight attaches to the reciever. I'm looking for something that replaces the factory sights (rear sight still on the barrel).
