finished this little build up last week and thought I would share it. most of the parts are stock, I did take it apart and polished most of the parts that are in contact with each other for a much smoother cycling 10/22.

Other than that I cut two inches off the butt end and about 5" off the fore end. I was going to cap it in brass but I ended up having some .25" thick black G10 on hand from knife making (koenscraft) so I used that instead. fore end cap is pinned and glued with two steel rods keeps the build looking much cleaner. sanded and stained with a mix on mahogany and walnut oil based stain. I hit the bottom, butt end and fore end with some black paint and faded it in and finished with a satin clear

barrel is an 8" dlask .920 with a 2" linear comp so I had to widen the barrel channel to get that to fit. The receiver I sand blasted and hit with some brownells OD green aluma hyde 2 to match the sling. swivel studs were installed as well as the nodak spud sights. sling is just a cheapy off amazon but fit the build well.

rifle is 26.125" over all length, nice short build that you can have a blast with.

hope you guys all like it! next one I will find an older solid walnut stock or maybe a grey laminate for a more modern look.

Sold it already, I enjoy putting rifles together and refinishing stuff so I will probably do another "tanker" build with a few changes.

Honestly=I almost never click on threads with the word "build" in them, as they're mostly guns just assembled with aftermarket parts/upgrades. Very few stir me-this one kind of does. :) Love the blackening of the wood too. Slipery-keep an eye out for another set of sights, and hit me up when Pollievre is PM and Registry V2 is history.
