10/22 Target Tactical Scope help.

Hey guys, just ordered one of these:

Minus the 1000$+ Leupold Mk4 optic.

I am looking for something in the 100-300$ range to mount on the 10/22 with a mildot reticle, around 3-12x power, possibly ilumination.

I have read about the following optics:

Mueller APV 4.5-14x40mm AO - Which seems to be found around 165$

LEAPERS SWAT 3-12X44MM (SCP3-M3124AOMD-A) -Which is also around 165$

The leapers seems to get a bit of a bad reputation.

What other options do I have?

I had a Falcon Menace 4-14 on mine. It fell apart internally within a month of use (only 4-5 trips to the range). I ditched it and went with a Millett TRS-1 4-16 with illumination. I'm absolutely impressed with the scope and have since bought another Millett for my Savage.

A little outside the price range, but it works great on the 10/22.

I use Leapers (various models) on all of my magnum springer air rifles without issue.

How about a Bushnell Tactical 3200 5-15x40 AO for around $429.00?

The APV doesn't have the mildot, what you want is the APT, it also has a 30mm tube.

Wow, liking the looks of that for sure, so far the forerunning candidate.

When I eventually get one of these, or build one similar I'll be putting a Falcon 4-14x on it. I'll probably use the one on my target Ruger right now, and put one of my extra 4.5-18x Falcons on the Ruger Target.

Here's a picture of the falcon on a few semi autos before they were mounted so you can get an idea of the proportions.

So mine showed up today from Frontier, I also ordered a set of Leupold PRW 30mm Medium (54167), and they don't fit!

Using a caliper the rings measure ~28.89 where they are suppose to go over the scope and around ~29.97 just above that.

The scope measures ~29.94.

I have not contacted Frontier yet, as I wanted to post here in case I was doing something wrong.

Turns out they are supposed to snap over the scope according to:

I guess I will wait until I have the 10/22 in hand rather then temp mount them to a rail.
