10/22 TD scope mount question

I am wondering if anyone makes a scope rail for the 10/22 TD that fits into the slot where the rear sight fits into on the barrel. If no such animal exists do you know if the x-22 backpacker optic mount works with the original stock or would I also need to get the backpacker stock.

If the original stock doesn't work maybe it just needs to be cut out a bit. Anyway, I don't want to go whole hog on this gun with all the extra barrels and stocks and such as this particular gun could see a bit of abuse for what I intend to use it for.

Go to rimfirecentral.com in the states. I think they were tinkering with this. Mounting a Reddot on the barrel

Will do, and yes, hoping to drop a reddot on it. Something a bit lighter and smaller than the scope I did have on it.

If you plan to use the Magpul optic mount in a original stock, the stock ( forend ) will need to be inletted.

Or you can buy a complete short TD barrel from Dlask with the rail...

Or buy the Dlask rail and have it install...

Just go ahead and inlet it for the Magpul mount with a Dremel,it's a rock solid set-up.
Factory Take-off stock sets are a dime a dozen on the EE for dirt cheap so there's no real risk involved if you F it up.

Looks good S&S, I may just have to go that route. Doesn't look like there is anything available on the market anymore. I believe Volquartsen made something that worked for the Ruger MK series handguns years ago but no longer.

Dlask makes a rail that screws into their 12.5" takedown barrel... it is a SOLID unit... enables the optic to stay oriented to the barrel when takedown and reassembled. Joe only made a few and has two left in stock... not sure if he will do another run or not, but I am guessing that he will at some point.
