10/22 Thumbhole Stock Standard Barrel

.750" is not a "standard" barrel... it is a "mid-weight" barrel, and they look great in a .920" barrel channel stock... as a bonus, it will be completely "free-floated."

Charles....
Shooters Ridge sells a line of thumbhole 10/22 stocks that fit a Ruger OEM 10/22 barrel.
You could always get one of those and hone out the barrel channel to fit a sporter tapered barrel?
It's not hard...I honed out a Ruger compact stock barrel channel to fit a sporter barrel.
Took all of 1/2 hr. ;)

Must have been really tired last night when I posted.

I meant Sporter barrel.

All of the thumb hole stocks I have found are cut for a bull barrel. Does anyone make a stock for a sporter barrel?

Thanks

Go with the Boyd's SS Evolution... it is a fully relieved barrel design, so the barrel diameter does not matter... it looks good with a sporter barrel and is a very nice handling stock... I have half a dozen EVO's and love them... pretty good off the bench and fanatastic offhand... plus they are a nice looking unit.

No offense anyone, but the Evolution just doesn't do it for me.

Here's what it looks like now.

As you can see it has a tapered barrel. It shoots very accurately and so I see no need in changing bbls.

Maybe I should contact Boyd's and see if they can make an unfinished one for me that won't break the $100 mark. I will probably need to shorten the LOP and change the palm swell for it to fit me.

Thanks folks. Gonna need to do some head scratching on this one.

I'll let you know what happens.

check out Boyds website, I have a couple of thumbhole stocks that are made for factory taper, designed like the featherweight thumbholes on centerfires, a nice stock with a less radical look than the evolution

Boyd's doesn't do small custom orders, let alone a single stock... but if you watch their Ruger 10/22 section, they do occasional runs of sporter walnut stocks.
