I was doing some fencing in my fields yesterday and brought my ruger 10/22 out to hit a gopher or two. I have had it since the 90s but haven't shot it in years as I usually shot trainers or something else. Having not shot it in so long and I couldn't believe how terrible the trigger is, so now I'm on the look out for an improvement. I have seen the complete trigger assembly from cabelas but my 10/22 is stainless (including the scope) and I kind of want to keep a stainless trigger assembly. Has anyone had luck fallowing the YouTube videos on modifying your own hammer and sear? Are there new triggers and sears available in Canada, better yet Edmonton area? I haven't worked on triggers in the past much but I do some very basic gunsmithing, so I don't think doing it my self is out of the realms of possibility. Just need some advice by people who have been down this road.

If you wanna keep your factory metal trigger group, I suggest you put in a volquartsen target hammer for about $50. There's lots of you tube installation videos. I have one in my old trigger group and it made it a very nice light trigger. For the money it's pretty darn good.

:agree: The VQ hammer is the an excellent value for the cost incurred.

If you want the best 10/22 trigger go with the KIDD, they are absolute perfection but expensive.

if you where gonna put out the money i was gonna say to get the big VQ kit, the HP action kit.
i put one in my 1984 Ruger and the trigger is a dream.
it has the 2 parts you ordered plus a couple more items to spruce up and update your trigger.
