I'm in the middle of modifing the bolt release. I've got the trigger group 100% disassembled I would give it a cleaning while I'm in the area. Is there any othere mods I can do while in in there?

Most definitely - As danager said, check that sticky. A simple polish of all contact surfaces will do wonders for a lot of trigger groups.

do the auto bolt release mod for sure. If you feel like experimenting a bit, stone the engagement surfaces of the hammer. Does wonders and if you somehow manage to mess it up and go to far then you can order a vq target hammer for about $30

Thanks for the replies, and the links. I got the bolt automatic release done, and I polished the bolt and reciever for now. I was going to try to improve the trigger, but I think I'll just buy a after market one.

I just bought a complete Timney trigger unit. Not the drop in but the entire assembly. Fantastic quality and before I had a chance to install it I accidently dropped it off of my desk and bent the extractor arm. Damn. Couldnt find one anywhere so I called Timney in Arizona and they agreed to ship me a new extractor free of charge ! THAT is great service for a great product. Highly recommended.
