Thought I was smarter than the pin punch I have . I took the trigger assembly apart out of my ruger 10/22 .found all the springs and pins that fell on the floor and behind the bench , some of those are really small . Got it all back together after a half hour of scratching my head like a monkey doing a math problem . I put it in my rifle tonight and the trigger won't reset ???? I can cycle the action but I have to push forward on the trigger to fire the rifle . So I take out the trigger group and it functions fine . Back in the rifle it goes but still not resetting . Back out and it functions fine ???? Took it apart all together as per the sticky at the top of this section ??? It has me boggled , anyone have any ideas ?

I did the same thing, you must of assembled it incorrectly. check out youtube :)

I had one of the springs installed wrong on mine...

Do you have the small spring in place that fits in the hole? either its missing, not installed correct, or you replaced the spring with another that is to weak to reset the trigger. Fixing that should get your trigger resetting itself again.

what i have done on my takedown is put some scotch tape over the pins which fall out of the trigger group so that doesnt happen. its thin enough that it wont cause issues operating and saves a lot of hair pulling.

Whenever you take something like a trigger job, you'd be better off doing it in a dry cleaner type bag. The type that you can see into and still do the handwork. That way when something flies away (it will), it doesn't go far and is easy to find. BB

One of your small spring must of fallen out of place, take it apart to see if you can spot where it might of disconnected....
